About the Spinning Class... #TryingNewThings
With starting this blog, I decided that I better also start doing new things so I can get a sense of everything.
So I started last night and decided to jump into the spinning class at my local gym since the instructor kept on me about it...I have mixed emotions about it...Why? Because my thoughts went a little like this:
1. "Wow, this seat is so hard and uncomfy"
2. "Well this is easy..."
*Teacher says to turn resistance up*
3. "I am already sweating like a pig..."
4. "What are jumps?!"
5. "My goodness, I hate jumps!"
6. "I'm sprint at a level 8 resistance for HOW long?!"
7. "Yup, my butt will be so sore"
8. "How freaking long is this class?!"
*One last song, lets sprint it out at a level 6*
9. "Thank God it is almost over and THANK GOD it's the lowest resistance!"
10. "Man, I feel good about myself after pushing through that.
I cannot lie, I was proud of myself after finishing the 45 minute class, I may have hated the fact that I did legs two days prior to the long, non stop class but I still felt accomplished. I may have wanted to stop the entire time I was pedaling but I didn't.
Post cycling day...My one and only thought is "I may have broken my butt bone...why does it hurt so bad?!"
My instructor said it best when she said "Cycling/Spinning is either your thing, or it's not..." & while I really nejoyed it and I probably will give it a few more tries, I am currently looking for another type of cardio...like boxing.
Now for the real question, would I suggest spinning? Absolutely! At least give it a try. There are plenty of people at my gym that LOVE spinning and it is such a great form of cardio. Spinning doesn't JUST work your legs (like I thought) It is pretty much a full body workout. If you are curious about spinning, I hope this convinces you to give it a try! I also hope my butt stops hurting after the next couple of classes like my instructor said it would.
XOXO,
